The first part of this 4 video series is explains that we are putting up a free standing patio. We are showing you were the columns will be going and what the customer picked out as far as color and the patio design. This customer already has another Alumawood patio in their backyard and wants to add a similar structure but in a different area. As you can see in the video, our crew measured and wrote down the chalk lines for where the columns are going to be bolted to the concrete.

This next video is about a C-Beam 12 gauge and you can order these in different thicknesses. They normally come in 20′, 24′, 30′, 40′ but this one is 32 foot c beam because we ordered from a different manufacturer. We needed two 15′ posts, so we cut those 2 and had 2 feet left over.

There are different ways to put the columns in and different steel posts you can use. We are going to show your our method and how we choose to put them in. As you can see in the video, we use half inch wedge anchor to drill through and install the steel post.

The 4th and final video starts by showing you what is done after we drill into the ground. The first step is to vacuum the area where you just drilled to make sure its clean and none of the debris is settling in there. Once that is done, you are going to put the post back to where you drilled the holes and put the screws in each hole with a hammer. Once all bolts are tighten, grab your leveler and make sure each side is level. Sometimes you get lucky and everything is perfectly leveled but other times you will have to loosen some and reposition it with washers until leveled. Not worried about having more washers on one side than another because they will be covered. Make sure all bolts are snugged at the end.
